Ad Age Recruits Digital Marketer Josh Golden as Publisher

Following a wide-ranging search in the media and marketing industries, digital innovator Josh Golden, VP Digital Marketing at Xerox, has been appointed the new Publisher of Crain’s Advertising Age. Breaking with tradition, this is the first time in the publication’s 85-year history that the Publisher has been recruited from outside the company; and the first time the company has selected its publisher from the ranks of the marketing and agency decision-makers it serves.

As Publisher, Josh reports to Crain’s SVP and Group Publisher David Klein and assumes P&L responsibility for the growth and reinvigoration of the Ad Age brand across all platforms – web, mobile, print, and events.

Josh brings the perspective of an innovative marketer and digital agency thought leader. At Xerox, he was instrumental in launching a new content-driven brand marketing strategy as VP Digital Marketing and Communications. Previously, he was EVP and CMO at Story Worldwide, and held agency leadership roles as Managing Director, Digital at Euro RSCG and Chief Digital Officer, Grey New York. He has also sampled media marketing and sales from the ‘inside’ as Group Digital Marketing Director for NBC’ Universal’s broadcast and cable websites. Josh majored in film and TV at Ithaca College, and he holds an MBA from NYU.

Cara Erickson of executive search consultancy NewCoordinates, LLC partnered with Crain Communications’ senior leadership in conducting this search.
