MassLive Media Appoints Ronnie Ramos as VP, Content and Editor
Cara Erickson, president of media executive search firm NewCoordinates, LLC is pleased to have partnered with MassLive Media, a division of Advance Local, to recruit experienced journalism leader Reinaldo (“Ronnie”) Ramos as its new VP, Content and Editor. He reports to MassLive President Josh Macht, who joined Advance Local from Harvard Business Publishing earlier this year to guide the expansion of the organization as a statewide digital news outlet with breadth across breaking news, pro and local sports, features, and public service journalism. This appointment was effective on September 18, 2023.
Ramos was most recently the Editor in Chief of the Chicago nonprofit investigations and solutions newsroom, Illinois Answers Project. He brings a versatile record in print and digital journalism leadership as the first Executive Editor at the nonprofit Daily Memphian; Executive Editor of The Indianapolis Star; Senior Editor at the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, and more than dozen years as a reporter and editor at the Miami Herald. A Cuban-American who grew up in Miami, Ramos spent a year in Boston as a Neiman Fellow at Harvard University earlier in his career. He returns to the Boston area to lead MassLive’s newsroom as it expands its footprint and coverage eastward from central and western Massachusetts.
